Comment: Young bull with good growth 
                    potential, having grown 0.5" 
                    in the last 60 days since his 
                    initial measurement. The 
                    Mattanu Red Oryx project 
                    originated from animals 
                    purchased from Mora Ranch 
                    in the Van Zylsrus area and 
                    incorporated into a Kalahari 
                    partnership with Piet du Toit 
                    Wildlife, initiated in 2015. Since 
                    then, animals from Valley Venture, 
                    as well as split animals from the 
                    Louis vd Watt STS Meletse, born 
                    from 42"+ cows, have been added. 
                    The breeding programme has 
                    always focused on producing dark 
                    red animals with good horn length 
                    and symmetry, as demonstrated by 
                    this lot. These animals are well 
                    adapted to semi-extensive 
                    conditions with limited 
                    supplementation during  
                    the winter months.
