Platinum Rhino is a registered captive breeding operation for the purpose of conservation to save a threatened species from extinction. The Captive Breeding Operation Registration Certificates are available to view.
In 2008, the population founders were sourced from 98 locations around South Africa, and due to poaching many of these populations no longer exist, making Platinum Rhino as a genetic breeding nucleus, irreplicable. Platinum Rhino Captive Breeding Operation is now the largest and most successful Southern White Rhino breeding and protection project in the world.
Underpinned with a comprehensive biological and breeding management plan, the experienced and dedicated veterinary team, enables Platinum Rhino to breed up to 200 progeny a year. The state-of-the-art security system and world class security team, affords the project full-proof security and not one Rhino has been lost to poaching since March 2017: six years without loss to poaching.
Platinum Rhino has the foundation and potential to continue its current success at rhino conservation by providing rhino for rewilding and range expansion projects as well as contributing breeding animals for the re-establishment and/or re-enforcement of other rhino populations, far into the future.
The purchase of this entire project will include, but is not limited to, the properties as indicated in the attached Property Description, animals (White Rhino population, other Game species and other Livestock species) as listed on the attached Animal List, and other assets as listed on the Assets & Improvements lists.
Please note that a refundable bidder's registration fee of ZAR 90 000.00 (Ninety Thousand South African Rand) is payable to attorneys Seymore du Toit & Basson Inc. On receipt of the deposit, the registered bidder will be approved and can request more detailed information and a visit to Platinum Rhino, to meet the team and view the project.
