Register for an auction

You only have to create an account once, but you need to register for an auction each time you want to bid on an auction. Go to www.swiftvee.comm and click on Online Auctions. Click on the login button in the green navigation bar at the top of the screen. Login by entering your email and password. Scroll down to the auction you are interested in and click on the green “register for this auction” button and accept the Auction T&C’s (From the relevant livestock agent). The green “register for this auction” button will change to read “registration pending approval”. forgot password

You have now completed your registration for that auction.

Please note that registrations are then sent to the relevant livestock agent who will contact you to complete the vetting process. Please read “why is my registration stuck on pending” below.

How will I know if I have registered for an auction?

The Green button on the auction will change from “Register for this Auction” to “Registration Pending”

Why is my registration stuck on pending?

Once we have received your registration, your details will be sent to the relevant livestock agent who will contact you to complete the vetting process. SwiftVEE will not approve any bidder, unless that instruction is received from the relevant livestock agent.

Please register by at least 17h00 on the day before the auction is set to take place in order to give the livestock agent sufficient time to complete the vetting process to ensure that you are approved before the start of the auction.

If you have registered well in advance & your registration is still pending 2 days before the start of the auction, you can contact the livestock agent directly in order to follow up on your status. If you don’t have the contact details of the livestock agent, you can call/whatsapp the SwiftVEE helpdesk on 064 032 4839. Please only follow up at least 2 business days before the auction. All of our livestock agency partners try their best to shorten the approval turnaround time, but have to work through significant auction registration admin for each registrant, which can be time-consuming.

Once you have been approved to bid you will receive an email notification. You will also notice that the text on the button for the intended auction changed from "registration pending approval" to "registration approved". This means that you are all set to bid on the day of the auction.

Getting started

On the day of the auction go to www.swiftvee.com and click on Online Auctions. Login to your account. Scroll down to the auction you are interested in and click on the relevant auction. The Webcast (live video-stream) of the auction will only appear approximately 10 minutes before the start time of the auction.

Webcast sound

Webcast video, but no sound: the sound is usually muted until the start of the auction. There is also a mute option on the video. Please make sure your webcast is not on mute by clicking on the picture of the speaker and taking away the line through the speaker that will appear on the webcast screen. Also make sure that your laptop/phone sound is on and the volume is turned up.

Webcast video

Please refresh your browser if the webcast video goes off and you can only hear the sound, but not see the auction. Our service automatically adjusts the feed to your own internet connectivity quality. In the case of your internet being extremely slow, our systems will automatically give preference to an audio only stream.

What happens to bids at the end of the silent / timed auction

If bids are received close to the end time of the auction, the bidding time will be extended. The bidding will only close when there are no more bids and the extended bidding time has come to an end.

How do I know the bid is about to close

A countdown timer counts down the per-second time until closure of each lot. Do note that in some instances bidding on a lot may be extended in the case of bids being received within a variable extension timeframe.

Commission bid / Max bid

This will allow the system to bid on your behalf up to a certain maximum amount defined by you (i.e. your commission bid). This means that you do not have to have the app open to bid. Our system will incrementally bid on your behalf up to your max amount and will not immediately place the maximum commission bid defined by you. Automated commission bidding will stop if you are the highest bidder even if your ruling bid is less than your max bid.

You commission bid will not be shared with other bidders at any point in time.
